RIGHT TURN FROM A MINOR ROAD

At the “Stop” sign or line stop completely as soon as the line has disappeared under the hood (i.e. within 1 meter), and wait for 3 seconds even if there is no one.

“Stop” sign and/or line are applied at intersections with restricted view.

You must stop even if there is no traffic on the crossing road.

Your stopped position must be within one metre before the line. You comply with this by braking smoothly while approaching the line, and stopping completely as soon as the line disappears under the hood of your car.

Where “Stop” sign is not accompanied by a “Stop” line or crosswalk, you should stop at the road junction, i.e. before entering the travelled portion of the through road.

Remember to ease the pressure off the brake pedal just before the vehicle comes to rest to avoid a jerk, otherwise you risk to fail the driving test because testing officers consider jerks as insufficient control of the car.

3 second stay at the “Stop” line is what testing officer expects to see, and about the time needed for thorough check before entering the crossing road (definite waiting time is not provisioned in ARR).

Note the unique octagon shape of the sign.

Road marking is a solid white line across the half of the road.
