RIGHT TURN FROM A MINOR ROAD

When clear:
Looking at the “entering point”, make a square turn past the middle of the crossing road - start steering right when the front of your car comes close to the centre of the intersection (right turn is “far and square”).

To make a nice square right turn not cutting the corner, slowing down go straight till the centre of the crossing road, only where you start steering to the right making a rectangular turn, not accelerating until the car is along the new road.

But take care not to go farther than needed, or you may obstruct way of the oncoming cars turning right simultaneously with you.

More often than not you’ll be using “hand-over-hand” steering technique. How? - see CAR CONTROLS section – Steering Wheel - Steering technique.

On the photograph you can see the car has entered the crossing road with wheels straight, and now the driver is steering right using the “hand-over-hand” steering technique.
